Welcome to DACHYPAA 🌍✨

DACHYPAA is the second YPAA Convention in German-speaking countries and brings young people of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Al-Anon together.

DACH stands for Germany(D) 🇩🇪, Austria(A) 🇦🇹 and Switzerland(CH) 🇨🇭 – - we however welcome people from all countries. Our meetings take place in German and English.

What does YPAA mean?

YPAA – Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous does not mean young in years, but young at heart:
🌱 open to growth
🌱 full of 'joie de vivre'
🌱 curious about connection and exchange

There are no age limits whether you're 17 or 70 – if you feel addressed, you belong.

Why DACHYPAA?

YPAA conventions take place worldwide. With DACHYPAA we are creating a space where people from all over the German-speaking world can meet, network, exchange ideas and grow together while having lots of fun – even beyond the major cities.

Al-Anon is a community for relatives and friends of alcoholics. In a safe and protected environment, where we share experiences, strength and hope, in order to better understand and overcome common challenges.

The goal of Al-Anon is to help family members,
🌱 to understand oneself better
🌱 developing inner strength
🌱 and live a fulfilled, independent life regardless of whether the alcohol-dependent person is still drinking or not.

Al-Anon is based on the Twelve steps and principles of Alcoholics Anonymous, however, is an independent community, which is specifically tailored to the needs of relatives and families.

Please bring

🧴 A water bottle (for water, tea & snacks on the go) – although drinks are available on site, your own bottle is handy for activities and excursions.
🧽 Towels (Bath towel & hand towel) – Bed linen is provided, but you should bring your own towels or rent them on site.
🧼 Personal hygiene items (e.g. shower gel, toothbrush) are not necessarily included.
🎒 Comfortable clothing & shoes for outdoor activities in the Taunus region.
📱 Smartphone/charger & possibly power bank (for photos, navigation & contact).
💧 Rain gear or a light jacket – the weather in the Taunus region can be changeable.

🌱 Consideration & Responsibility

To ensure a safe and harmonious coexistence, we ask that you observe the following points:

🥗 Bringing your own food is not permitted.
🚫 Please do not bring any alcoholic beverages or drugs.

There are other guests in the hostel who may be consuming alcohol. We have no control over this – which makes it all the more important to treat each other respectfully within our framework.

Costs & Payment

We are pleased that you are interested in this year's DACHYPAA.
You can expect a weekend focused on recovery, community, exchange and service.

Day Pass: 10 €

Convention-Pass (entire weekend): 25 €

Overnight stay + Convention Pass (2 nights · Friday to Sunday): 145 €
including full board

This step is important to correctly assign your registration.

Important Note

The number of available beds is limited.
Participation with overnight accommodation is only possible as long as capacity is available.
We therefore recommend registering early to avoid disappointment.

Participation regardless of financial means

DACHYPAA is a conference by and for young people in recovery, open to anyone interested in living a sober life.

No one should be excluded from participation for financial reasons.
If you are currently unable to afford the convention, please contact us by email. Together we will find a solution.

Support & Donations

Donations to support the convention are very welcome.

Among other things, they help to

* make the event accessible to everyone
* support fellows who, for example, cannot afford travel.

Data protection & required information in the booking process

As part of the booking process, we will ask you about your full name and your birth date questions.

This information is necessary because it is a prerequisite for:

* the Accommodation booking in the youth hostel as well as
* the Organizer's liability insurance for the convention in Germany.

Handling of your data

As a fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, we handle personal data with particular care.

* the collected data will be exclusively used for the above-mentioned purposes.
* to this information only two expressly appointed persons from the organizing team will have access.
* Data will only be shared with third parties if this is absolutely necessary for accommodation and insurance purposes.
* After the event has ended, the data will be deleted in accordance with applicable regulations.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people
who share their experience, strength and hope with each other
that they may solve their common problem
and help others to recover from alcoholism.

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.

There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership;
we are self-supporting through our own contributions.

A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution;
does not wish to engage in any controversy,
neither endorses nor opposes any causes.

Our primary purpose is to stay sober
and help other alcoholics to achieve.

Al-Anon Preamble

The Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems. We believe alcoholism is a family illness and that changed attitudes can aid recovery.

Al-Anon is not allied with any sect, denomination, political entity, organization, or institution; does not engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any cause. There are no dues for membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting through its own voluntary contributions.

Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics. We do this by practicing the Twelve Steps, by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics, and by giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic.
